Our Story
Tony and Sherry Sullivan have owned and operated Governor's Restaurant in Presque Isle for more than 20 years. Their son Matt has followed in their footsteps and together the trio started Ferris BBQ in 2022. The restauarant's name also pays homage to these strong family ties. Thomas Ferris Sullivan, Tony's grandfather, preferred to go by Ferris. He was a simple man, worked hard and took care of his family. Always grew an amazing garden, always had a deer hanging in the barn. Generations have continued with his name in the Sullivan family: Anthony (Tony) Ferris, Brady Ferris, and Parker Ferris and surely more to come. Ferris was also known for wearing a fedora. This little detail can be found in our logo where we "tip our cap" to Ferris and his commitment to family with the fedora over the "F" in the frying pan.
Our Mission
Ferris BBQ is a full-service BBQ restaurant devoted to offering an exceptional dining experience to each and every customer. We make every effort to ensure that each individual walks out of our restaurant fulfilled and happy. We strive to serve the best traditional, slow-smoked BBQ around, but accent our menu with offerings such as hand cut fries (made with locally sourced potatoes), hand crafted sandwiches, burgers and specialty salads. In addition to our food menu, Ferris BBQ has a full-service bar, featuring several local brews on tap and select bourbons and other spirits. We are committed to delivering excellence to each and every diner.
Our Pitmaster
Rob Thibeault spent time successfully running J&R BBQ, perfecting techniques over the years and has brought that experience with him to Ferris BBQ. Along with his own home made "J&R Original BBQ Sauce"! His influence can be found in every tender bite of delicious BBQ and our weekly specials.
